爱神岩

Petra tou Romiou also known as Aphrodite’s Rock, is a sea stack in Paphos, Cyprus. It is located off the shore along the main road from Paphos to Limassol. According to the legend, the Ancient Greek Goddess of Love and Beauty – Aphrodite – was born of the sea foam here. Legend tells that she rose from the waves and she was escorted on a shell to this particular beach. The sea in this region is generally rough, persuading tourists not to swim there. It is not permitted to climb the rock.

库伦古剧场

Kourion is one of the important city-states of ancient Cyprus. It first appeared in the 11th century BC and was ruled by Assyria, Egypt and Persia. It was once a cultural center during the Roman period. This archaeological site is one of the major discoveries in Cyprus.

Κourion Ancient Amphitheater was built in the second century BC. It was originally an ancient Greek theater. It was small in scale. It was destroyed by an earthquake in AD 77 and expanded to its present scale in 98-117 AD. The site was first discovered in 1873, and systematic excavations began in 1934. At the beginning, it could accommodate more than 3,500 people. In the third century, the animal fighting game was popular, and there are still animal huts under the stands. Nowadays, tourists can also use the theater to watch performances in summer. Adjacent are the ruins of a public bath built after a major earthquake in the 5th century, which was destroyed in the 7th century. The sauna and rest rooms are covered with beautiful mosaics, which are now faintly recognizable.

国王陵墓

The Tombs of the Kings is a large necropolis lying about two kilometres north of Paphos harbour in Cyprus. It’s one of the most important archaeological sites of Cyprus that has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list since 1980.

They are carved out of solid rock and some of them are decorated with Doric pillars. Rather than kings, it is actually high ranking officials and aristocracy that were buried here, but the size and splendour of the tombs gave the locality its grand name. About 100 tombs have been uncovered for public view. The best are situated in the majestic atrium area.

塞浦路斯大主教墓

The tomb of the first president of Cyprus locate about 3 km from the Kykkos Monastery in the Troodos mountains, within the Nicosia district of Cyprus. Kykkos Monastery is one of the wealthiest and best-known monasteries in Cyprus.

Makarios was buried here at his request after his death in 1977.The simple stone sepulchre is overlaid with black marble and covered by a round, stone-inlaid dome. A huge bronze statue of the archbishop, moved from Nicosia’s Archepiscopal Palace in 2008, now stands on the hill, adding to its grandeur. You can admire the beautiful scenery of the Tro?dos Mountains in this area. And a wishing tree is located just near here, which is said to help devout believers realize their wishes.

哈拉?苏丹清真寺

Hara Sultan Tekke is located on the west bank of Larnaca Salt Lake, in Larnaca, Cyprus. It is a Muslim building and a famous religious building in the Islamic world. The mosque was built in 1816 and is said to have been built in memory of Hara Sultan, the stepmother of the Islamic lord Muhammad.

Hala Sultan Tekke is one of the important pilgrimage sites in Islam after Mecca, Medina, and Jerusalem. Inside the mosque is Hala Sultan’s tomb. A gate made of three large stones stands on the tomb. The big rock lying horizontally in the middle is said to have been transported from Mecca at night and is a precious cultural relic. The present-day complex, open to all and not belonging to a single religious movement.

尼西海滩

Nissi Beach is a popular beach in the resort of Ayia Napa, Cyprus.The beach stretches for 500 metres and the water is crytal clean enough for the beach to have been awarded the blue flag designation. Access is easy by foot, bike or car, and there are car-parking facilities. The beach also offers disabled access.

The beach, which runs the length of its own cove, takes its name from the small islet of Nissi located close to the coast. The uninhabited islet can be easily reached on foot through the shallow waters. Facilities on the beach include toilets, changing rooms, sun beds, umbrellas, water sports facilities, beach bars, a diving school whilst there a variety of accommodation, restaurants and kiosks in the area.

无花果树海滩

Fig Tree Beach located in the tourist resort of Protaras in the popular holiday town of Paralimni, boasts fine, golden sands and crystal-clear waters. It takes its name from a single, solitary fig tree that has been there since the 17th century. The sandy beach stretches for 500m and the waters are clean enough for the beach to have been awarded blue flag designation. Access is easy by foot, bike or car, and there are car-parking facilities.

The beach also offers disabled access, including a special wheelchair at the lifeguard tower to help disabled persons enter the sea with assistance from the lifeguards. Fig Tree Bay，in 2011, TripAdvisor declared it to be the third best beach in Europe, but it dropped to 13th place in 2013. According to the Big 7 Travel it is the third best beach in the world for 2019.

法马古斯塔门

Famagusta Gate is considered to be one of the most attractive sights in Nicosia, and is a historical relic left by the noisy past of this ancient city. In the long history, Famagusta Gate has witnessed the rise and fall of the city.

This circular city wall was built after the Venetians occupied Cyprus in 1489. Later, the Turks rebuilt the 12-meter-high and 5.6-meter-wide wall that had protected them for 300 years. The wall has a circumference of 4.8 kilometers and a height of 12 meters. There are 11 ancient heart-shaped bunkers on the wall. The three city gates in the west, north and east directions of the city wall were the only access to Nicosia that year. This still-preserved city wall is the crystallization of the ingenuity of the working people of ancient Cyprus in the art of architecture. Nowadays, the arched corridors of the city wall and the houses on both sides are used as venues for exhibitions, conferences, lectures and various performances.

帕福斯

Paphos Archaeological Park contains the major part of the important ancient Greek and Roman city and is located in Paphos, southwest Cyprus. The town of Paphos was also the capital city of the island during the 2 century B.C and the 4 century B.C.

Its sites and monuments date from prehistoric times through the Middle Ages. Among the most significant remains so far discovered are four large and elaborate Roman villas: the House of Dionysos, the House of Aion, the House of Theseus and the House of Orpheus, all with superb preserved mosaic floors, especially an Orpheus mosaic. In addition, excavations have uncovered an agora, asklipieion, basilica, odeion, and Hellenistic-Roman theatre, and a necropolis known as the “Tombs of the Kings”. Nea Paphos is one of the three components forming the Paphos archaeological complex inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1980 for its outstanding ancient remains.

Cape Greco was designated as a National Forest Park in 1993. It is a relatively unspoilt area with great natural beauty which changes and offers something different each season. It is an oasis of tranquility nestled midway between the resorts of Ayia Napa and Protaras.

Covering an area of 385 hectares, Cape Greco was originally covered by a dense juniper forest. Today, although juniper and varieties of pine can still be found, trees and shrubs are mostly limited to sparse low level growth. Various flowers including orchids and other rare plant species are also found here and during the springtime there are many flowers in bloom. The park is also a game reserve with hunting prohibited. Foxes, hares and hedgehogs are common and over 80 species of birds, including many migratory species have been spotted. Visitors are also likely to see Lizards and a large variety of butterflies.

There are several hiking trails which extend to a length of 16 kilometres. These are signposted and take in all the points of interest in the park. There is also a designated picnic area. The rocky seabed and underwater caves encourage a wealth of sealife making this area a hotspot for both snorkelling and scuba diving. Fishing is also a popular and peaceful way to spend time here. In addition, Cape Greco, it is the easternmost point of both the Republic of Cyprus and the European Union. According to local legend, it is also the home of the ‘Ayia Napa sea monster’.
